It's luke I can't talk to any of my mayes about the whole process they are all school drop outs or doing media btecs lol :/ this is the only place I can't moan about the Oxford admissions process if I tell anyone els they Re like stop worrying ull be fine

Im in the US and its even harder for my friends to understand what's going on. I'm forced to over simplify everything and their response is that I have great extra extracurriculars and will get it... sorry but that wont help lol

The application process has had another bizare effect: everytime I get an email I have fear/hope that it will be a university rejecting/offering me a place ha
I've heard people talking about getting a form from the college about which area of science they want to be interviewed in...should I be worried that I haven't heard a thing since my SAQ acknowledgement? :s-smilie:

I've applied for Biological NatSci at Sidney Sussex btw

haha yh whereas my friends think grades are the most important which they are but the underestimate the average grades of an oxford applicant!

in the US is there really that much emphasis on extra curricular stuff?
well i am a track addict and am constantly checking emails, sadly having 247 access to the internet on my iphone is a curse lol

The American education system is extremely holistic, so they emphasise the person over a particular grade. That's not to say that one can have poor grades to get into the Ivy Leagues, but it's having the grades and being chair violinist in school orchestra and football captain and president of model UN club and having lived in China for 4 months. lol

Ya when I talk about emails it's actually each time my iphone buzzes I think it will be a university.

Third best in the country for Politics after Oxford and St Andrews. Very reputable for the course and have an absolutely outstanding reputation for research quality :yep:

Oh wow!! I'm feeling rather good about myself now. :p: But this university thing is really getting to me. I've got mocks in 2 days and I'm just not bothered!! I cut school and "studied" ie. Facebook.
It's sort of like, even if I muck these exams up, I can end up with Cs at the real thing and still average out an A.. and then it'll be ok...
I don't like who I'm becoming... :frown:
How are you finding things??

so true! Yeh, 3 a*s is what I'm aiming at too, just cuz of job prospects, but there's been this whole thing at school where everyone's all "gosh, she's such a swot" type thing since for the first time in my life did I start embracing the fact that my life was not governed by Sugar and manicures.. (for some reason, more GUYS are going round getting pedicures done, making me feel extremely insecure)

Ugh, I can't stand this wait for interview offers/rejections
People for Econ at Cambridge have got theirs, and it's just so annoying to not KNOW.

This is you, right? :p:
If so: MUN: which conferences do you go for??
I had offers from Harvard and UNA-USA but a) didn't have the money, and b) couldn't round up enough talented people to come with me. :frown:

Mr i.am.lost. I was very interested in the comment posted, until i spotted use of "slang-based" language. Cambridge would frown on users using "cos" as a short form of "because". Heed my advice and correct this error. As for your problem regarding topic selection within the course, it appears that the other 4 university courses have an element of biochemistry involved. So my well-earned and utterly useful advice would be: follow what the heart tell you to do. May the force be with you my son!

Just realised that I've never seen/read/heard of a person with GCSE grades similar to mine get an interview. That's annoying, as I think they misrepresent me.. :frown:.

No, don't worry. Every college does things differently, and the Bio and Phys departments of each college do things differently as well.

I can't remember the order things are sent to you, but you'll be getting an invitation to an interview soon (if you haven't already).

My AS grades aren't cashed in :o:. I'm predicted A*A*AA, though, and my reference was alright...

You're right anyway. I'm normally quite deterministic about these things; what happens happens. All we can do is wait and see

my As levels were far from desirable :/ but i have quite good gcses and A*A*A prediction and good reference although i have to say the TSA was awful, i am anticipating a rejection at oxford without interview, but i decided that after the TSA i have reached a stage of acceptance, now to wait on my other 3, of which i think i will gte one offer  im very pessimistic  lol but cotched

Only the MUN thing is actually me. I've done Harvard and Northeastern University conferences. I didn't really consider putting my actual ECs down lol.

Oh... lol.
What DO you do? Apart from MUN, I mean? I'm worried about whether I should mention my desperation to pursue ultimate frisbee and trampolining at Oxford at interview lol.
