Oxford PPE (Philosophy, Politics and Economics) Students and Applicants

Can anyone tell me what kind of questions I can look forward to doing at it? The website says 'Quantitative Biology' but does anyone know specifically what it'll be about, or even better, has anyone sat it and could possibly give me some advice?

Hey! I'm new here. Pleased to meet you all =)

I've got an interview at St John's College Cambridge for biological natural sciences. It's Wednesday 9th December, and I'm supposed to sit a test in the morning.
Can anyone tell me what kind of questions I can look forward to doing at it? The website says 'Quantitative Biology' but does anyone know specifically what it'll be about, or even better, has anyone sat it and could possibly give me some advice? Do we know how important the mark is?

just got an interview from them for PPE! applied to magdalen though-i'm a little disappointed, i really wanted one of the old classically "oxford" colleges as stupid as it sounds and i can't help but feeling my application was a little bit worse which was why i got re-allocated ..but of course i'm lucky to have gotten an interview at all!

Congratulations! I do understand a little about wanting to get into Magdalen, but at least you got an interview

Still haven't heard from them... only reasons I can think are
1. Still deciding
2. International
3. Under 18
4. Email's not working.

*sigh* nothing to do but wait.

I'm an international and I'm 16, so that rules out two... I think they surely must have decided by now, so I'm rather sure it must be an administrative delay or your email's not working or your postman's slow.

Turns out it was my email not working. I'd have thought it would have bene on UCAS Track, but ah well. Called them, so all's good.

My dean told me today that the number of PPE applicants was an awful lot higher this year than ever before! So they are cutting/have cut a lot more people pre-interview than in previous years.

Uh-oh.

A lot of people from my school seem to have been rejected too! (three out of 6 already!)

So whoever has an interview can be quite proud.

And for those who got rejected, the competition is just a lot more steeper this year...

hey guys i was just wondering if anyone is doing anything in terms of maths prep?

i dont do A level maths and havent done AS, im not bad at maths just havent covered calculus properly, but i did teach myself basic differentiation. Just wondering how maths based the interview will be?

i know the course will have quite mathematical content, but i will teach myself that at a later date regardless of where i go to uni.

just wondering if any students who didnt do maths or otherwise had an interview could give me some help, will they expect muhc of me mathmatically even though i dont do it? Or will the economics interview be a bit more about discussion rather than maths
