Okay - well at least you still have LSE (people get in without maths every year) and Warwick. Best of luck to you!! Let me know...

Well done - which college?

New college! I completely fell in love with it as well so I'm sooo pleased!!

And really sorry trollman, but no worries I'm sure you'll still go to a great university and you'll obviously love it whereever you go!!
I would also recommend self-teaching as much of HL maths as you can. If you explain that the school don't offer it, then it shouldn't be a problem. If you can take the HL exam anyway, I would suggest doing so, but if it's not possible then the interview should be enough to show your skills accurately.

:frown: I do understand getting very attached to Oxford though - I feel exactly the same, though I haven't heard from my college yet. But I will probably be in the exact same position tomorrow. Good luck for everywhere else you applied to though.
And yes, well done to everyone who got in!
All these posts are making me so nervous...
I got an offer today:smile:

Teach it yourself, you'll struggle to get in without it.
Congratulations to all the new offer holders - I hope you go and party.

Piece of general advice - the hard part is not over - MAKE SURE you get your grades.

Any reflections from interview can be PMed to me and at some time i'll update this thread with some of the latest information - thanks to those who already have!
I would consider doing an A-level in Further maths on top of your IB, via an internet course or so
Thanks for the rep from someone - to answer your question - I was at Pembroke college

I think everyone should rep you for this guide - it's amazing!

Thanks again for the time you invested into it - it was such a help throughout the whole process.

Aww...thanks Dorian. How did you know?

I do Maths, Econ, Physics, Chemistry, English and French in the IB.

What about you...? And what's the status on your applications?

I just had a feeling, I remember you talking to someone about the TSA and you seemed pretty prepared

Nice choice! What was the offer, 36 points? Excuse me if that's way off, I'm not that well knowledged in IB :p: .

I'm thinking of applying to PPE or SPS next year. I've taken Maths, Economics, History and English.

May i ask how people with outstanding GCSE/AS grades are failing to satisfy Oxford as well as the likes of York (a AAB grade requirement).

This is not worded well. If you're asking why people with very good grades are rejected from York and Ox than Ox is due to the large numbers of equally qualified candidates and performance on the TSA and at interview. There's no reason for York to reject well qualified candidates unless the PS is flawed or they're 'doing a Bristol' and rejecting people they think will go to Oxbridge/London.
