Well I would say a characteristic of a lot of chavs is that they leave school after GCSEs. Dont see how you can call college people chavs tho.

I went to sixth form college and got great A levels and am now at durham reading chemistry along with a number of others from my 'college'

Although the first post confused me i agree, who cares? In my town there are two colleges. The sixth form (A Levels) and the tech college (everything else) and although the tech college is mainly chavs theres loads doing A levels who are really clever so just because you dress and act some way doesn't mean that you're a college/school drop out. Hope that made sense
Sixth Form College certainly isn't very chavvy.

I'd imagine that your 'tech' college consists primarily of mature students who'd probably feel slightly out of place in a 6th form college.

I went to a Catholic School and I certainly wasn't going to stay on there for another two years to be patronised and treated like a child. 6th form college was perfect for me - a perfect combination of independence and good pastoral care.
