i'm from blackburn and i want to go to runsaw college near preston
1] is t worth travelling everyday- for it is 3rd best colege int he country
2] most people who go there are white i wear the headscarf as a muslim - would i have many problems?

just wondering what the atmosphere is like at runshaw??

I thoroughly recommend it. It is one of the best colleges and for a good reason. I would also point out that although it is a majority white british, there is a very large percentage of muslims, hindus and other minority groups. As far as a headscarf goes, I do not recall seeing someone wearing one but we used to have two guys wear turbans so I cannot see it being a problem. You are best off asking them though.

Runshaw is a great college and I say you should go there!

Note, I have just left this time and so this is me talking from experience.

It's a forty minute bus ride (from Blackburn approx), so it depends what you are like for travelling.

All my teachers were really good for my subject.
It is really large college, it appears they have taken moe people on, despite this, class sizes are reasonable in my experience 12-20.

There are loads of enrichment activities and everyone seemed friendly.

I really want to get in, I heard that it is sooooo hard to get into.

Top pupils from my school got rejected (priv. school). I heard they may have failed a test that Runshaw set?????

Sorry to dig up an old thread but I'm applying to Runshaw for 2013 entry. What is the drama and music like at the school? (Enrichment not subjects)
And what can you tell me about the academies system?
Thanks

I don't know if I'm the best person to answer this now, I left four years ago. Whilst I was there, there were lots of multiple choirs and other musical activities and drama was varied from different plays to opportunities to do exams.

I have no idea about the academy system.

I hope it isn't too hard. hopefully ill get 7+ in every subject bar maths which i'm hoping for a 5. I know this is below the requirement for science subjects, do you think they would allow me to enroll on my prefered courses?
