Questions about studying for a postgrad

I know its a bit early to start asking these sorts of questions, but i want to be prepared!

Ive just finished my first year at MMU studying Q300 English. I'm hoping to go on to study for a postgrad in something English related, and have a few questions:

- What are the general entry requirements?
- Do red brick universities look down on ex-polytechnics? as im thinking of either Liverpool or Sheffield

You would usually need a 2:1 classification or above. Some uni's accept 2:2 or above though. Since you are considering of Liverpool or Sheffield, they might want a 2:1 or above in your first degree.
