Is it Chancellors Wharf that is a bit of a distance from the uni campus itself?

It is located in town, next to the canal and hospital. So, it is about 10-20 minutes on the bus depending which bus you jump on.

I have a friend moving into the Wharf in September - she is on the ground floor near the carpark [not sure of the name]...

do they generally put undergrad and postgrads in different flats in chancellors wharf, or mix them together? or is it mainly undergrads anyway. am going as a postgrad in september not sure where i am living yet though.

I dont think they do any sorting really..

though its rare for there to be any first years in Chancellors Wharf... so you will be with returning students!

Pretty much the same as campus... I was there last year  At night you could download about 7mb a second, which is the faster I've ever seen (but I live in the country)

Just thought I'd let you all know:

I emailed Kate (the residence officer) yesterday with a few questions...
There aren't toasters in the kitchens... (but there are kettles and microwaves)
& the rooms themselves don't have aerial sockets but the kitchens do

With the rooms not having tv ariel sockets then does anyone whose lived there before know if you can pick up any freeview channels with just a normal ariel ?
Reply 12
At least we get balconies.... <_<

Biggest worry at the minute is the lack of space in the apartment. 6 people with 1 toilet = lol times xD

It depends which way your room points... I had a massive aerial last year and could barely pick anything up at all. We had a tv in the kitchen though, and that was about all we needed, as long as someone has a license betwen you all!

I'd hold off on getting a license until you see if you can pick up anything
:O no ariel sockets!!!.. well that sorts my problem of "do i bring a TV or not"... which makes my other problem of fitting a years worth of stuff into a TEENY saxo a bit better! :P

on that note.. what do people know about car parking?.. cos i intend to have my car for trips to the lakes and the such

and *sniff* no balcony for me either.. :P
