Only the Army can tell you that

Search for the rehabilitation of offenders act 1974. Every conviction has a period of rehabilitation after which it becomes 'spent' and will no longer mean you cannot join.

Its two years from the end of your sentence in your case. You can still apply with an unspent conviction, but its completely at their discretion and i would check if they will consider you. If the conviction was spent (after the 2 years and ten weeks), then they wouldnt be able to see the conviction, unless you were applying for specialist roles where they were allowed to bypass some of the basic requirements of the ROHA in how they regard spent convictions.
Hi, my name is dan and I'm 27years old. I've always wanted to join the army but unfortunately was given a prison sentence for drug offences. I served 2 and a half years in prison but am now off licence and am a completely changed man with a fiancé and 2 beautiful sons. Is there anychance of ever being able to join the army? I'd love for my children to grow up proud of what their dad has achieved. Many thanks

You have to make an application and at the right time in the process, the Army will look at the exact details of your situation and make a decision. You can only find out if you make an application first.
Can I join army or any that I can fight for my queen and country I'm 35 super fit but have criminal record IV never been to crown court so there not serious charges I just lost my way I'm a paytreat love my county
Yes, when I was in the military there was a guy in his late 20s who had been convicted of assault. It made the recruitment process even more tedious although he was still able to get in an qualify for basic training.

A simple Google would have answered your question:

"To join as a regular soldier you need to be at least 16 years old, although you can start the application process earlier, with your parents' permission. If you're under 18, you'll also need parental consent to join. You should be in Army phase 1 training before your 33rd birthday."
@Barry Riley If I were you, I'd go to an Armed forces careers office and have a chat with them. As well as speaking to a careers adviser on your options, you will likely need to make a choice on the type of role you'd want to do. Go onto the Army website and find the closest one to you... You'll be able to have a look at the different roles available to you as well. Hope you get all the answers you want.

I'm 27 and and am starting training soon. It's taken a long time as I have a criminal record from when I was younger including time in Young Offenders. You have to show them that you have changed and learnt from your mistakes, I know I'ml ucky to get this chance. But for anybody in the same situation - it can be done but you need yo be patient and stayout of trouble.

Speak with your local Army Careers Office. Your son may not be able to join if his driving offence may go to court; if he gets a conviction, it will depend on the sentence and what job he wants to do. Hence you will need to know a bit more about the possible outcome of this 'pending' before contacting the Army, but you don't need to give any personal details and the recruiters won't ask. It's not unusual for them to get this kind of enquiry and they are in the best position to give you the most up-to-date information.
Everyone makes mistakes and a criminal conviction doesn’t have to stop you from joining the Army. Be honest about your past history when you come in for a chat, and we might be able to offer you that all-important second chance.

Some convictions are forgotten or 'spent' after a rehabilitation period. The length of this period depends on the offence. You must tell us about any unspent convictions you have. For some jobs you’ll need to tell us about any convictions when you apply, whether spent or not. You need to be honest if you hide a conviction before joining up, you could be prosecuted later.

So - you can potentially still join the Army with a criminal record. As has been previously said, this tends to be for spent convictions and will be on a case-by case basis. Your best course of action is to visit an ACC and chat to the recruiting staff to discuss the particulars of your cases.
