Well, firstly, what are the reasons for your weight-gain? Have you recently gone on the pill (gives you a bigger appetite) or have you stopped doing as much exercise?

Guess i might be doin a bit less exercise, due to exams etc... But not a lot less, still play tennis 4 + times a week...

I dont even really know what kinda weight i should be at 5''8'?
Being 5'8 and 9/10 stone would be athletic Id say.

TBH, weight isn't really all that accurate, you might still be trim and have just put on more muscle - muscle is 3 times heavier than fat. Are your clothes still fitting nicely?

Heres the weird thing - a pair of my jeans are waaaay too tight, but im still buying the same size clothes in the shops (size8/10) dunt make sense lol...?
Hit your stomach and if it wobbles for about 10 minutes then be worried. If not listen, to PSA and Rebecca

Maybe they shrunk in the wash. 9/10 stone isn't overweight.

I'm the same height as you and I weigh more. I think it all depends on your body frame. I'm currently on a healthy eating regime. I just don't eat as much and just stick to three healthy meals a day. Exercise is always a good idea if you want to tone up a bit more. Swimming is supposed to be really good for that. Oh and trust me, you're not overweight.

i dont know how much i weigh, but if you look fat then lose weight. if you wobble, do exercise. if you look ok, then continue as you are.
A healthy weight for someone who is 5ft8 is considered to be anything between 9st 5lbs and 11st 10lbs - so you have nothing to worry about.

i think your weight sounds fine tbh. but if its bothering you just cut out, or cut down on chocolate, sweets, puddings, white bread, white pasta and white rice etc. exersice is the best thing, you dont need to do much, about 30mins a day is ok i think.

How many times must I reiterate that BMI is pretty much a pile of poop?

A 'pile of poop'? Right.

Personally, I find it very helpful in keeping me 'on track' when it comes to my ED. But I can only speak for myself. There are many factors it does not take account of. Rather like height/weight charts.

Yeah, it's only really useful if you're tracking something over a time-period.

As for issues like "my BMI is xxx so OMFG i'm overweight" <--then it's poop.

Absolutely.

I try and stay above a certain BMI. It's part of my treatment plan but other people I know have been told to throw all that out of the window.

Unfortunately, resources* dictate whether or not you get this kind of individually tailored plans.

*post-code lottery.

how old are you? because there's a point near the end of puberty when some people fill out a little bit- ie become a little more womanly. 1 stone isn't really that much as long as you're still healthy, which you are. i wouldn't worry about it.

im only using my BMI to track my progress.ive been dieting since january.

The fact is at 11 stone i am seriously overweight for my height. i have lotsa of fat around my stomach and hips (im normal everwhere else) which i cannot shift. ive tried all exercises (i do 50 situps a day anyway) and cycle alot but its till dosent go...

im just saying people shuld feel lucky there not me. :frown:
