Calling all current Vets

Hey guys,

I'm trying to get a list together of current vets from different unis so we can set up an "ask a vet" sticky like the medic one in this forum so i need all you current vetties to post (and pm as well so i can't miss it) your uni and year so we can be co-ordinated in our response to queries from prospective vets, as Daveo has said some form of organisation on my part will spped the process. Hope you're all having a gud 'un.

So far i have:

Cam: Pollo Loco (1st)
Edin: messy (1st) and ChocoVet (1st)
Bristol: Vet In Progress (1st)
Glasgow: SlipperyWhenWet (1st) and voodooshaman (1st)
RVC:
Liverpool: leggielass (3rd) and gt@vetschool (1st)

One of my coursemates did that for a couple of months back in September. She was working Wednesday afternoons and Saturdays / Sundays every week which left her no time to do proper academic work / have a social life. She was exhausted all the time as well. So no, I wouldn't recommend it. As for the money issue, I do run short of money on a regular basis :p: and when I do I just try not to go out so much and instead stay home to do WORK. Anyway, being broke is part of the student experience and it's a good chance to learn about managing your own finance as well. Just my 2c.

Glasgow 1st Year here.

Money is quite a problem i reckon. i personally am going to have to work my ass off over the summer (at the expense of EMS) to get myself out of the debt i'm in - i had a bit too much fun at the start of the year, but you have to if your staying at home or else you will feel left out and it will be harder to find a group of friends. I think a job is possible. a couple of evenings a week and one day at the weekend will get you around £50/week. You'll be tired, but noone said life was gonna be easy

iv been saving up recently, and im getting a job over summer, so im hoping to save up from that. not going away with my friends because of saving the pennies, see, dedication!

I guess it depends on what else you want to do as well - i dont have time for a job but then i do play hockey once a week and i run a guide unit which takes up one night a week and occasional weekends as well as planning time etc, oh and im also junior AVS rep which although so far hasnt taken up much time i think near sports weekend and congress i could be mighty busy! I lot of my friends in halls doing other subjects (like tv production!) have a job and work loads but i really dont have the time - not if i want to be fair to my work...
