hi.... i was hoping to get some opinion on this. basically stuck on whether to pick ashburne or woolton.
from what i've seen so far, ashburne undoubtedly seemed to have the nicest building and rooms...
but is anyone able to tell me about how good the social life there is ??
any opinion at all would be great!!!! thanks!!!

heyho its me
ashburne lah.or victoria campus!
Dont know about Ashburne so cant comment, but from what iv seen and heard, Wollton would be the best out of the 2. Although if your looking for a great social life, some where like Owens park maybe better..as some of the en-suite rooms have a rep of being full of toffs!

i went round ashburne on the open day and have put it as my 1st choice!!! it looks fab, was really friendly and safe. the girl that showed us round said she didn't even bother to lock her door as it was so safe (don't know if thats wise!!!) she said she organised hot chocolate parties to make sure every1 settles in ok. she said the food was good but to stay away from owens park- i guess it depends on what your priorities are! it was really tranquil as well yet in middle of fallowfield in its own grounds bt i neva went round woolton as i was so sure i wanted to get into ashburne hall. i will b well disappointed if i don't get in2 ashburne.

I was in Richmond Park and it was far from being full of toffs.

I don't know much about Ashburne... but what I do know about Woolton is all excellent. The rooms are perfectly nice, as are the communal bathrooms. But far more importantly, the atmosphere from my experience is incredibly friendly.

hahah thanks. only thing thats stopping me from going to woolton's the distance. but i guess it shouldn't make much of a difference eh. thanks anyway.

ashburne isnt really any nearer at all. i'd go with woolton, food is meant to be nice and the rooms are big.

Can only agree with kirstenb... we live on the same floor in Woolton and it is really nice.

Very big rooms (I doubt Ashburne are as big)
Diverse range of people (my personal opinion)
Good JCR (I find)

---
Some people don´t like the food but I guess that´s the same everywhere
Woolton does not have common rooms in each block which would be nice

Otherwise, don´t listen to kirsten cause she´s promoting here, being a member of the JCR comittee next year ;-)
