hi guys need a little help on the followin, if you could show me the steps as well pleasexx
-prove that 1+tan^2 X = 1/cos^2 X

1+tan2x = sec2x (standard identity) = 1/cos2x

Alternatively:
= 1 + (sin2x/cos2x)
= (cos2x + sin2x)/cos2x
= 1/cos2x

sin²x + cos²x = 1
divide all by cos²x:
sin²x/cos²x + cos²x/cos²x = 1/cos²x
tan²x + 1 = 1/cos²x
