Sacrificing for love....

Hey guys,

As we all are seeking that special someone to share our lives with, I was wondering how much you would be prepared to sacrifice in persuit of true love.
For example:

Would you be prepared to fail an important exam for your crush/bf/gf (talking about all your A levels or a university exam)???

Would you be prepared to leave your friendship group???

Would you be prepared to disown your family???

Basically what lengths would you go to, for true love?? :tsr:

If it was true love then I shouldn't have to.

Erm, saying that i'd have to..

I would sacrifice everything, except my family and then probably kick myself as it wasn't really true love :frown:

I might not sacrifice my friends actually, or a really good career.

But yeah, those straightners would go if they had to

I am not suggesting that the other person in the relationship is asking you to sacrifice things, I just meant that if due to external influences you were put into the situation where sacrificing these things was necessary, how far would you go??

Ohh. Well as Beck says, the pursuit of love is our new faith (heh just done a sociology exam, sorry). I'd sacrifice anything for true love because I believe it's ultimately the most fulfilling thing you can have in life. I'm such a romantic.

Why would you ever have to fail an important exam for your boyfriend or girlfriend? There are understandable, necessary sacrifices (such as moving away from one's family to be nearer one's boyfriend or girlfriend) but senseless sacrifices (like deliberately failing your exams) are just stupid. If it is true love, the other person shouldn't ask you to do things like that.
I would sacrifice chocolate...ooh wait...maybe not :frown:

But if for whatever reason you were put in that situation (by events outside both of your control) would you make huge sacrifices for love.

Personally I would have to say at this stage of my life, I would more than hesitate, after all what you percieve now to be love may turn out in a few years to simply be an infatuation or lust. To make huge sacrifices such as leave my family or fail very important exams I would have to be so sure it was the "real" thing.

I would move heaven and earth, leave my friends, fail my exams (I nearly did once), and disown my family, if it meant I could be with the person I loved!
For TRUE love I'd give up everything.
I would give up everything I have been stiving towards for my whole life for true love  . I remember telling my friends that once and they all looked at me shocked as if I had gone mad because they know how hard I have been working towards everything I want.

I think that in life, there are three or four people who you will fall in love with, and Ive already met one!

Everything. I know it's cliche but when it actually happened i was like this -->

Last year i was in a relationship stupidly serious for my age. Exams are pretty much everything to me... i can't help it it's in my genes!! And i damn near failed 'em all. Pretty much stopped talking to my sister completely.... Nearly got myself killed....

I hope i never love anyone that much again for a long time :frown:
If it was true love then Id sacrifice EVERYTHING.
But I would be very unlikely to know if it was true love or not whilst in the relationship.

Incidentally, Im taking true love to be the most extreme form of undying love an individual can have for another. And it would have to be reciprocated..of course! :P:

For love, I would:
-wash my car
-get a job
-deodorise my sports shoes
-recycle my beer cans like I said I would

ok that's not actually my invention but to be honest, I'd probably do the most stupid things for someone I loved.
