How to stop your facebook comments appearing on others' homepages? watch

    • Thread Starter

Hi, I wonder if anyone could offer any advice...

I *thought* that none of the comments I leave on my friends' facebook walls appears on other friends' homepages / newsfeeds / whatever they're called, because I went here:

And unticked the 'show wall posts' box ages ago, and last time I looked it has remained unticked.

And yet a friend just told me that the massive 'conversation' I'd been having with a friend all shows up on his homepage.

Obviously I don't want to spam up people's homepages, and I also don't want the comments I leave everyone to be on show, so what can I do to stop this from happening?

    Thanks so much!

Use messages instead, I moved to messages a long time ago, because to be honest no-one needs to know what I post because it's either private or really dull...

As far as I know you can't. Maybe keep personal/long conversations in messages from now on. Although if people do find you annoying they can just click to hide you, that's what I've done to most people on my facebook.

If you don't want people reading it, don't post it. Send it in a private message instead.
