Desperately sad news. RIP.

I think this guy went to the same college as me at Oxford, but I just missed him. I had read about another guy who did this; a young corporate lawyer who mysteriously fell to his death inside the Tate Modern.

Surely these banks must have a large turnover rate of staff? It must feel horrible to have very senior staff make it clear to you that your job is over and despite all the your hard to work getting to that point your life's ambitions can be put in jeopardy so easily.

Surely something to take away from his death is this: You walk a perilous path in your life if your whole self-worth is predicated upon your job success and material rewards....things that, like it or not, are often out of your control.

RIP kx

Never knew him personally but this is very sad news.

Edit: Just seen it was suicide. Obviously very inappropiate to discuss right now but I think alot of lessons can be learned from his death.

This is really painful news.

My thoughts are with his family and close friends.

RIP Anjool.

Truly awful, and a tragic loss for friends and family. Happened to meet him once, seemed like a very nice guy.

Rest in peace.

Holy ****. I never met the guy but spoke to him a few times on here, for someone who seemed to be doing so much in life and seemed to be "living the dream" it seems like an incredibly strange thing to do. Did his job really mean that much to him? RIP.

It wouldn't surprise me if there were more to this than meets the eye. At any rate, while I can't profess to have known him intimately (or for that matter, outside of TSR), my enduring impression is of a dynamic, charismatic and industrious individual: an entrepreneur par excellence, who for all his academic pedigree, professional distinction and personal lustre seemed always to be possessed of a disarming humility. He was in all aspects a man of character; and TSR, not to mention the world at large, will be immeasurably poorer for his absence. R.I.P.

I made a thread about it in general discussion, didn't realise there was one here.

I remember him when he posted as Jools, was a friendly intelligent person from what I remember. Had a few interesting discussions with him.

RIP and I hope his family and ffriends are getting the support they need.

I remember him most as 'Jools' too.

& from the first ever 'people off the internet' meet I went to - when we were both Oxford undergrads & he just seemed like a really nice guy.

I'm so shocked and saddened.

His departure has created many headlines, just went on Times Online and saw an article on him. I left a comment (Times just needs to publish/allow it) I really hope his family and friends are coping well.

Someone told me about this, and I didn't believe them. Came on here to check the story.

Very tragic loss. RIP.

RIP whoever you are.

pretty amazing. I was actually talking to an MD about this today, and only later (paper on the way home) did i find out it was BPB.

moral: don't let work consume you, especially in a cut-throat industry such as this. if as an outsider you think that that's easy, remember if you want to get on you'll be working 12hrs a day and need to be putting the effort in. so there's a thin line.

eagerly await the posts of all the interns who didn't have an early finish like myself..

Very sorry for your loss, from what I have been reading in this thread and various websites, he seems like he was a great guy who many people thought highly of.
