    Don't bother, really.

I went yesterday, thinking "Well, only the Year 11s and 13s, and uni students are off, it can't be that bad". Oh, how naïve I was. The place was absolutely packed. There was a 2+ hour wait for coasters, 1+ hour wait for the best non-coasters, and even waiting times of almost an hour for rides like the Rumba Rapids and teacups...

We bought one fast track ticket to Nemesis Inferno, and we still had to wait half an hour.

Also, it takes about an hour to get into the park now, because security has become ridiculous. I don't know how long this has been in place, but now everybody is frisked and shoved through a metal detector, their bags checked, etc.

    Just a friendly heads-up.

(Oh, and I didn't even get to go on SAW.)

I went in May at the weekend and it was the same. Took over 2 hours to queue for the Saw ride, and over and hour and half for the other rollercoasters. Still good fun though

I went on an inset day in Year 10 (it was October, I think). Completely empty. I loved it. Perhaps I'm just comparing a more typical day of yesterday to an extremely rare occurance back then, but still.

I went there the day before you did, for a maths trip. I thought it would be the same.
It pissed it down with rain.
I waited 2 hours for nemesis inferno in the pouring rain.
The ride broke down, just as it was my turn to go on it.

    It's because your a noob.

Everyone knows if you go to a them park in summer, you HAVE to get fast track.

I went Alton Towers about a week ago, bought fast track along with all my mates, for £8, and ended up going on: Air, Oblivion, Nemesis, Hex, Rita, Spinball Wizard and Logflume.

Next time, as a rule of thumb, if it's packed buy fast track!.

It probably didn't help that it's a Friday.

I went on a Friday in mid-June - like you say, it was PACKED.
Some of my friends went on the Tuesday before and they said it was really really quiet, hardly any queues.

I went about three weeks ago.

Did Stealth twice, Saw once and loads of others.

Longest queue was Saw (about 2hrs).

    Shortest was Stealth (walk on).

Was good fun. Makes a change from Alton Towers n Drayton Manor, at least.
