Well after all of the freaking waiting, I sent my form well ahead of the deadline, I phoned them up today and they said i'm one of the 4,000 students who didn't get a room in the student halls.
Living on a normal house in the first year sucks!!!! It's not as fun, its all isolated!

Anyone else got this bad news too ?

Not yet I feel sorry for you, but I'm sure you'll still have a great time! When did you send the form off?

Are Portsmouth your firm or insurance?

Yeah, it's my firm choice and they said they received my housing form early May. But I guess loads of people applied earlier, and she said there's only 3,000 rooms available and they received 7,000+ applications.

O lots of people sent theirs off in April.
I'm sure a house won't be too bad, at least you'll get some choice of who you live with at the housing events in the Summer. I'm sure it won't be as bad as you expect, saying that I'm still waiting to hear about mine!

That is just not true at all. You've got your housemates, people who live next door to you, people on your course...you're not isolated at all. I lived in a house for the first and second year and I wouldn't change it at all.

There's a good chance I won't be getting a hall room either, although I have contacted the Housing team @ Portsmouth, as I handed my form in late due to unavoidable circumstances (Operation/Moving house/Disabled mother all at the same time).

I'll post here if I don't get a room, and maybe we can sort out a house together ^^

How do you know that living in a house in the first year is isolated if you've not experienced it?

You'll me in the majority, plus you'll save loads of money than living in halls - more money to go out!

Well they'll be sending housing packs out pretty soon, but in my opinion by that time comes there'll be hardly any houses left (4000 people... limited houses...hmm...).

    So I've already started.

If you need a housemate or want to get some people together to share a house, PM me :-)
