Still dead, if men died between 1800-2000.

Unless, if men are wiped out now, then they will survive with the sperm creation thing.
I'd like to direct you to the O.P. 'Assume women can reproduce regardless'

The public sector would grind to a halt as most workers would be off on the sick or on paternity leave. The NHS which is predominately female would literally grind to a halt as their would not be enough nurses to help deal with the sick.
The private sector would be bogged down intolerably, to the extent that workers wouldn't be worth their salt as they seek to work flexi-time and only go to work 3 days a week with ridiculously short hours, because young aspiring university graduates seeking to be professional people won't relinquish that dream in favour of raising a family.

So I'd say the economy would be struggling quite hard.

    Other problems include:
Heavy things would remain unlifted and spiders would rule bathrooms worldwide.

They would be hiding from the spiders in the bath and stuck by the side of the M1 because they chose not to read the car's manual. :awesome:

Why does it matter? I can't help but think you've created this thread merely to put down women. The fact is that women couldn't survive without men, but even if they could we wouldn't be able to guess what the world would be like at all.
Mud huts instead of sky scrapers, candles instead of lightbulbs and horses as a major form of transport. Does that seem accurate?

This is a question that is often avoided, but what kind of conditions would they be living in if that were the case? (Assume women can reproduce regardless.)
No matter how much you boldify and underline the imposed assumption, the question still makes no sense with it there.

Reproduce only females, right? I guess most of us would somehow evolve to become lesbians. :erm: And the butch-like lesbians would probably take the 'male' role in the society.

I don't see how it doesn't. Picture a world in which women recieved no male help on terms of education, technology and so on, what kind of changes would that bring in the world?

    It's really not hard.

Er, how do you know that exactly? You think if men had disappeared in 1800 suddenly women would have just carried on as they were, sitting around in uncomfortable dresses and raising children with no sense of career? No, women would have had to educate themselves and there would have been vastly more female scientists and inventors. Thus other things would probably have been invented, but we can't possibly know what they would have been. Of course, you think women are stupid, so you won't agree with any of this but simply assume that they would just fail in every direction.

That is - if you manage to salvage the worlds resources without male help.

If that's true, why don't they 'educate themselves' now? Why don't they outdo men at their own game or at least show equivalent competence in each field?

Well... males seem to have invented almost everything. Maybe, without men, women could have invented some of the stuff by themselves. Who knows.

The world would continue as normal. It would hardly grind to a halt now would it?

Well it would hardly continue "as normal". You think everything would just be identical if men were wiped out?

That's not true, as if that were the case - They'd be showing equivalent competence in each field today. If we extrapolate women's achievements backwards, it seems like they wouldn't accomplish anything at all.

Name ten modern scientific advancements that have been made by women (Even this would fail to impress - as almost every modern discovery is made by a man.)

Name ten world leaders or entrepeneurs who are revolutionising the world today, and so on.

Okay - Let's assume women can reproduce on their own for all of you idiotic girls who can't seem to grasp the concept of this thread.
Alright then, smartface, we would probably be where we are right now, with increased self-esteem/confidence and a few pounds heavier. Happy now?

Well it is, because it would be entirely speculative. There are very few real situations where large amounts of women live without men, so arguments will not be based on past examples, so any responses here are likely to reflect the respondants' own gender, views, biases and suchlike. Furthermore, even if the arguments were developed based on large groups of women living in the absence of men, there are still no documented cases of female reproduction without males (directly or indirectly (and I don't accept the Bible as evidence of this)). So, saying whether it would be the same or different, and how it would be different, would be nothing but a guess. For example, the behaviour of large groups of women living independently of men could be a resistance to men, which would not be necessary if men were no longer alive.

Maybe because they don't want/need to? Besides, it will take a long time to actually reverse all the female oppression that dominated the last millenium - even when women were officially "allowed" to do science, it didn't exactly seem like the most tempting thing to get into what with sexism still embedded everywhere, and then because it was so male-dominated (which it still remains).

Clearly you just want the thread to conclude, "women are thick, men win at everything," so why not just make a thread with that title.
