I have some speaking and listening exam coming up, it requires me to speak in front of the class for 5 minutes about what ever I want. Any topic suggestions?

Current Affairs, Their importance and effect on target audience. Impresses with knowledge of research and the world around you, also if you choose correctly, quite interesting.

I had one of these a few weeks ago. Choose a topic which you know a lot about, or are really interested in because you can always find a lot to say about it.

Either that or pic something that will stick in people's heads. When I did mine I chose the topic of sexual health. I'm quite a quiet one in class, so when I did this it shocked everyone almost as much as the STI pictures

Also, it'd be helpful if anyone had some really interesting specific ideas.

Always go for something you're really interested in as it really shows. People in our class that chose an interest got higher marks than those who just chose something for the sake of it. Also, if you choose an issue that can be debatable or that is slightly controversial, it can invite awkward questions (assuming that your class can as you questions?) so I would avoid those topics.

do a "debaty" "should we" question, e.g:

should we bring back the cane?
should we have ASDA workers run the country?
should we pull out of the war?
should we censor everything that gets published or broadcasted?
    etc

or maybe, to include the above posters of current affairs...

should the media "shut up" about MJ?
does the public even care about swine flu?
    etc

maybe watch MTW for some ideas?
