    Hi
from what ive gathered it seems as if Southampton do not put much weighting on the UKCAT and people have got offers with results of below 600. Also you require minimum 7 A*-B and if you meet these, your GCSEs are not used further in the process. Seeing as they do not interview, does this mean your offer will be mainly based on you personal statement and reference?? Or have i got some of this wrong?

    cheers

Not quite, they'll take into account your predicted grades too. For example if you were predicted straight As they might be lenient and offer ABB where normally requirement would be AAB.

But does seem a little limited, but hey, if it works for them...

Do you have proof of this?

Not proof per se but the physics and engineering people all told me something along those line when I went to visit. Also they do do some informal interviews (I had one for accoutsical engineering) but mostly not.

None of this applies for medicine. Please ignore this...

UKCAT Cut off is below 532.5.

PS and Reference go much further with Soton.

They assign groups of applicants with 2 admissions tutors and they select the top x% from each group of y people for an offer.
