Im 21, female go to a climbing club Ive been going for like 9 years now and lately have started walking half way home with the instructor (a voluteer who's like 62 lol) we go the same way he's taught me for like 9 years despite me not being good at the sport. Anyway my family think its odd that I enjoy going 4 times a week and that I walk home with him. A lot of the time Im the only one who turns up on a Friday there is usually a group of 4 of us but they like going out on fridays my mum thinks Im an 'oddball' Im just quiet/shy.

Im not one to go out at night Ive never had a bf (which my mum thinks is weird but im just v introverted), am not popular only have like 2 friends I just enjoy sport and like talking to him as a friend but is it seen as weird for someone my age to walk home with a 62 year old or something

Anon as people I know use this site.

    I don't think so.
I belong to a variety of car clubs and have met some of my closest mates through them... most are in their 40's / 50's.

Infact, the guy i've come to respect the most from both a humanitarian standpoint and from an engineering perspective - a role model if you like - turned 50 this year.

Not at all. In fact, I would have thought it is common to have friends older than you as you get into your early to middle 20s (and sometimes late teens) as you'll be entering the working world, and work friends will be a variety of ages.

You change the title of this: is it weird for 21 year olds to date 62 year old men...

The answer is, it's incredibly creepy haha

    absolutely.
OP, i too have friends of all ages. Family friends i've known for years, members of choirs i sing in and play the music for...even my goddaughters parents are good friends of mine. I tihnk its good to have a balance, because if you have any problems they are always understanding, they never judge, they like you for who you are and they have a lot of experience so often can help you out more than anyone else can.
Friends are friends and age is just a number.

introverted people tend to get on easiest with eitheryounger or much older people. As I've got older I mix a lot easier with people my own age than I did in school.
