Music A-level is not usually available to private candidates at all. There are few options left; if there are any other sixth form colleges around that do offer Music A-level, then you could possibly register with them as an internal candidate, take classes if you could, and then take the exams and coursework. That's a fairly difficult option though.

I think it would be possible to study by yourself, but the main challenge you will face is finding a centre in which you could take the exam.
Also, in the new syllabus, the coursework should all be done in the form of a 15 hour exam, with your teacher/moderator/invigilator present, mking the whole issue a little more difficult.

I was planning on doing Music a level through self study, but I don't think its very easy =/ Let me know how it goes!
