I have got an unconditional from Goldsmiths uni to do Computer Science. Bearing in mind I applied late and I have done part of another degree what are my chances on hearing from other unis in London? Is Goldsmiths any good for employment after I leave uni? Also if I do not get any other offers would it be worth me taking a year out to apply again? Thanks in advance.

    Hi.
If you want to take a year out to apply again I think that really depends on where you want to go. As you might know, there are better universities (than Goldsmiths) in London for Computer Science, Imperial being arguably the best. I don't mean to diss Goldsmiths; I did a foundation year there and a lot of the teachers were excellent. They also have a great reputation for research and links with MIT  Also, I think the course there (from what my friends have told me) is quite practical as in, focuses on programming etc. So I guess you need to decide whether you enjoy the theoretical aspects more or want a 'hands- on' approach. I'm currently at King's College and I think the course here is quite theoretical.
Btw, what is the degree you partly completed?
I guess what I'm trying to say is that if you work hard and get a good degree then you'll have no problem finding a job

    Good luck with your decision!

Hey, thanks for your reply. Since posting this I have since got an offer from city university. I did 2 years of a pharmacy degree but it really wasn't for me so left. I have always wanted to be a software programmer or developer. I have also applied to Queen Marys and Kings College which i'm waiting for a reply from.
