Just thought I'd get an idea of what sort of housing you've gone for, and your reasons for that choice. I've gone for a private studio flat - space/privacy for study and "me" time, but room to invite friends over for social stuff! )

I'm going to be privately renting in my home city at the moment it seems.. but if it works out to be too much, then we'll most likely move to where I go to uni.. but that's a while off yet so I've voted on what our initial plans are atm!

Not made any defo decisions yet. But I think it will either be a house flat share, if it can be arranged. Or a studio flat, which would be my top choice if i can find a nice one in Nottingham within budget.

Money will be the deciding factor though, and halls seem a touch expensive for what you get...All though the social aspect could be worth it.

I'll be living in the house i rent with my husband in my home town. Do you think is going to affect friend-making ability, live about 30/40 minutes from the uni, it's the only part of going to uni I am worried about!

    Living at home here =)

Uni is a 30min walk from Reading train station ( train into reading is 15mins - which roughly equates to an hours journey)

Driving its like...30 mins tops from door to door?

Found a cool little cottage about 6 miles from the Uni, but still within the City. Not too expensive rent wise, but not cheap either! Made decision early that the largest percentage of my monthly cash was going to go on rent. Might have to start growing my own grapes to make wine!

I will continue living in my own house, with my husband and 3 children. I only looked at universities that are within commuting distance! It is about a 45min drive.
