Hey there, Im currently due to be going to UWIC to do sport science but after alot of thought I've been looking to change to physiotherapy at Cardiff, have spoken to Cardiff and they said as I don't have biology at A level then i don't meet the criteria, the grades i have are Dist.Dist. in a Sports BTEC and a B in psychology. So my situation is now to withdraw from UWIC and go though clearing to do physiotherapy, my heart was pretty set on going to Cardiff so was wondering if anyone had any advice on what my options might be?

    Thanks in Advance

If Cardiff won't take you without A level Biology, then that's the qualification you are going to have to get in order to go there. Or you could see whether they would accept a relevant Open University course. The bottom line is they won't take you with what you currently have. Therefore your options are either to go and get a qualification that they will accept, or look at the physiotherapy courses in Extra and see what their entry requirements are. Some of these courses may be in Clearing, but there are no guarantees.

If a uni requires Biology A level or equivalent, it'll be because there is (as you might expect) a lot of human biology in their physiotherapy course. Without the necessary grounding, you will struggle, so even if it isn't an absolute requirement for every course you would do well to consider whether this is an area you are confident about.
