    Which would you rather do sit the Irish leaving cert in seven subjects In one exam or sit the A level in two exams in 3 subject??

    You have to do English, maths, irish and another 4 to make out your 7 subjects of your choice for the lc...

    The Irish chemistry exam seems easier than the A level chemistry exams but since you'd have to do more subjects it probably equals out although I prefer A levels since you don't need to do excessive subjects which won't relate to your degree choice.

    My brother informs me that the Irish leaving cert is harder than A-levels because you need a comparitively higher score to get into British universities.

    That must mean the exams are easier, since you need a higher score.

    I looked through some of the Irish cert past papers, compared them to the A-levels in the same subjects.. Irish exams look really easy, seriously.

    I think he meant they are harder in that British universities ask for more LC points that an equivalent A-level score - not that the exams are actually harder.

    Ah but you have to take more. It's a fine balance ...

    Just wait for the Scottish to come in and they'll say that theirs are harder AND they do more.
