your better of asking in that uni forum, for what that uni dose
    pro and con
private, pro- your own house/ flat, what every your in
in a house you fell a lot more comfortable
con- bills, you have to pay all your bill, sort everything out yourself, internet, gas, electric, water, and if you get a ass of a landlord you have to deal with them

uni accom, pro- your near or on campus, so you can wake up 5 mins before lectures, you have everything with walking, uni wise, halls are fun, live with people you have never met before, then you have people below and above, you don't have to sort anything out as hall already have that, you only pay rent, no bills, and easy to sort things out with the uni if stuff goes wrong
cons- you only have the room as your own place, you living with random people which is good, but if you get a bad lot then its not so good

i would go got uni accommodation, halls are great fun

    thanks,
its at nottingham trent, and the private accomadation isn't so much as a house, its more like private halls with over 300 students, they are in the city centre and bills are inclusive,

how likely is it for people to get halls through clearing?

Most universities guarantee accomodation for first years if you are accepted before the end of August. It should say somewhere on thier website.

You probably won't get a choice, but you should get something.

then look at the cost, and the distance to uni, hall could be cheaper or closers, and full of freshers more less

private hall are likely to be full of 2nd 3rd year, well at least that's what they are like near my uni

i dunno what notts trent do about people coming through clearing, that may be best ask in that uni's forum, or email the accommodation people to get a better answer to that

all i know is what they do at my uni and that is they will find you accommodation it may not be what you want, but they will try and get you in hall
