    I don't want to seem too depressing but what songs would people like played at their funerals?
    'Buried Alive' by Venom. Would be totally awesome.

    Child of Dust by Thrice, the song is beautiful and its also a sonnet, which i'm a bit of a sucker for:

    Dear prodigal you are my son and I
    Supplied you not your spirit, but your shape.
    All Eden's wealth arrayed before your eyes;
    I fathomed not you wanted to escape.

    And though I only ever gave you love,
    Like every child you've chosen to rebel.
    Uprooted flow'rs and filled the holes with blood;
    Ask not for whom they toll, the solemn bells.

    A child of dust, to mother now return;
    For every seed must die before it grows.
    And though above the world may toil and turn,
    No prying spades will find you here below.

    Now safe beneath their wisdom and their feet
    Here I will teach you truly how to sleep.

    I'couldn't pick a funeral song so much as a frickin funeral playlist...
    I swear, if I have time to plan ahead, I'd create mix-CDs for all those in attendance

    It would probably be My My, Hey Hey by Neil Young, or After The Goldrush. Or Waterloo Sunset by The Kinks.

    I have spent far too long thinking about this on a regular basis - a few others I have considered:
    Spoiler:
    Show
    Birds by Neil Young, Under The Ivy by Kate Bush, Perfect Day by Lou Reed (or the BBC promo version), I'm Not There or Girl From The North Country by Bob Dylan, Exhausted by Foo Fighters, Sweetness Follows by R.E.M., The Funeral Party by The Cure (not a joke, it is one of the most beautiful songs ever), Sara by Fleetwood Mac, Last Goodbye by Jeff Buckley, The Long and Winding Road by The Beatles, Over The Rainbow by Eva Cassidy, Save Your Day by Jose Gonzalez, The Rain Song by Led Zeppelin, Let Me In by R.E.M., Song About An Angel by Sunny Day Real Estate, Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses? by U2

    Rose by Ludovico Einaudi would also be a must at some point in the service.

    Epic win to those that suggested Thunder Road :borat:
    I'd have thought, perhaps, The Rising by the Boss instead?

    Or...

    :cube:

    If I was feeling pretentious, or I was picking for someone else, I'd consider For Good from the musical 'Wicked' for the tears

    Can't live if living is without you...
    Not even sure if that's the name of the song.

    Or that one by Chicago - 'If you leave me now, you'll take away the bigger part of me...'
