Nick Griffin was on the Andrew Marr show today, and was asked whether he was a fascist. He responded quite vehemently, that he wasn't. Moreover, when probed on whether he wanted a totally "white Britain", Griffin responded that their position has changed and that it wasn't "do-able".

Any thoughts? I personally think its just a facade.

"Not doable" is not the same as "Not desirable."

The BNP party will never have mainstream apeal unless their ideas do . I don't think the BNP can maintain it's intregity and get votes at the same time.

i have watched the interview and from the way he made his replies characterised the need for votes. he always tries to shadow their (BNP) real side

To a gathering of the far-right in the US, Griffin said (a couple of years ago) that he has to present a modernised image to the public, but once they get back control of the media (which raises questions about who he thinks 'controls' the media) in the UK, the public might decide that every one of them (referring to ethnic minorities) should go.

The BNP can put on a suit but they're still the same disgusting party.

Really? How about standing for national pride. Surely a few people in our nation pay attention to that.

It might not be do-able, but it would be naive to think that just because he has said this, he wouldn't try

He's correct, it isn't feasible. He never took the stance that it was a primary aim or feasible after the party's reform, so I don't know why you are all so shocked.

How does "not do-able" suggest that it is not what the BNP wants? They're just saying that it's difficult to do, not that they don't want it.

Ideally they would want a relatively homogenous population like in the past, but they realise it isn't do-able given the state of current Britain- instead they want to work to put a halt on all immigration and encourage further the policy which already exists under the current government of voluntary repatriation.

    Indeed,it is shocking.

It isn't very well funded, but I do believe their is a policy which exists at the moment where people can request to be repatriated, with there being a small amount of funds set up to support it.

The only diference is that under a BNP government, a far greater amount of money would be put into this policy instead of the foreign aid budget.

If an immigrant wants to move back the government will pay for it
