I've got a job at a new store that's opening in town. This will be my first job and I'm not sure what to expect on induction day and leading up to the store opening. I've been warned that I may have to work upto 50hrs a week at the start but what will I be doing? I've been told that I will be working on the till.

Any informations about what to expect when I go for induction on Tuesday and the following weeks before the store opens would be helpful. Oh and the shop is Wilkinson.

    Thanks

inductions normally consist of health and safety training (may include a video), information on what to do about theft and what happens,
how to find stock and put it out correctly,
    learning where everything is,
about selling things like knives etc and asking someone to show ID if you think they are under 18,
what to do in case of a fire,
what to do if you are injured while working

    hope that helps a bit

As it's a new store you'll probably be doing a bit of everything. But then being Wilkinson's, that will either mean shelf stacking or working on the tills. There isn't much else you can get up to, is there? Not without a managerial role.
