    Hey,
Just wondering what peoples top ten songs of all time are. This can be open to any genre of music and can date back as long as you want it to. Think it would be pretty interesting to see what people think. You can have songs by the same artist if you wanna!

I've noticed that most people who've replied have stuck to one particular genre - why don't people like to mix?

    In no particualr order:

Sarah McLachlan - I'll Take Your Breath Away
Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms
Various Artists - Fields of Athenry
    Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
    Darude - Sandstorm
Coldplay - A Rush of Blood To The Head
ElementFour - Big Brother UK TV Theme
State One - Forever And A Day (used on the BBC Ad-Break Stings - with the clubbers jumpin' up and down, all in red)
    Rob Dougan - Furious Angels
Various Artists - One World In Union (the Rugby Union song)

I can never remember half of the songs I love for these lists (getting old/crap memory etc) so this will probably creep up towards 10 as I come back and edit it....or be swapped around as I think of something I prefer more.

    REM - Undertow
    REM - Nightswimming
REM - You are the everything
Simon and Garfunkel - Kathy's Song
Rufus Wainwright - Hallelujah (thanks to shrek and the west wing for this one  )
Weezer - The world has turned and left me here
Del Amitri - Roll to me
    Abba - Super Trooper
    Tom Petty - Free Falling
    James - Laid

I could fill up a top 20 list with REM songs (I haven't even mentioned their cover of Wall of Death, or Swan Swan H, or Low, Or radiosong, or Superman, or Drive, or the Scientist, or Leave, or E-bow or electrolite etc etc...and half of my favourites I know by lyrics not by title)

Don't see why this thread died such a premature death!

So here goes *mouth to mouth resusitation on the thread*

Ok... it's back alive and kicking.

My list (not in order except for no. 1) :

Hallelujah - Jeff Buckley (see note at end of post!)
    Rolling Stone - Bob Dylan
    Delicate - Damien Rice
Brothers in Arms - Dire Straits

To the people who said Rufus Wainwright's version of Hallelujah - you are excused, but only only if you haven't heard Jeff Buckley's version.

    Ok, over to everyone else.
