Top ten songs of all time. watch

    (Original post by Mad Caddie)
Just wondering what peoples top ten songs of all time are. This can be open to any genre of music and can date back as long as you want it to. Think it would be pretty interesting to see what people think. You can have songs by the same artist if you wanna!
    beat song ever
    Johnny Cash "hurt"

Well, i can't choose between 15 of them on my shortlist, so i'll list them all...

    Dashboard Confessional Album : A mark, A mission, A brand, A scar.

    Tchaikovsky - Swan Lake
    Tchaikovsky - Sleeping Beauty
Pachelbel - Cannon in D Major
(Cant remeber) - Aint no more mountain high
Oasis - Dont look back in Anger
Bon Jovi - Its my life
    Micheal Jackson - Beat It
    Beethoven - Symphony No 5
James Brown - This is a mans world
Queen - I Want It All

I've noticed that most people who've replied have stuck to one particular genre - why don't people like to mix?

    In no particualr order:

Sarah McLachlan - I'll Take Your Breath Away
Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms
Various Artists - Fields of Athenry
    Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
    Darude - Sandstorm
Coldplay - A Rush of Blood To The Head
ElementFour - Big Brother UK TV Theme

I can never remember half of the songs I love for these lists (getting old/crap memory etc) so this will probably creep up towards 10 as I come back and edit it....or be swapped around as I think of something I prefer more.

    REM - Undertow
    REM - Nightswimming
REM - You are the everything
Simon and Garfunkel - Kathy's Song
Rufus Wainwright - Hallelujah (thanks to shrek and the west wing for this one  )
Weezer - The world has turned and left me here
Del Amitri - Roll to me
    Abba - Super Trooper
    Tom Petty - Free Falling
    James - Laid

I could fill up a top 20 list with REM songs (I haven't even mentioned their cover of Wall of Death, or Swan Swan H, or Low, Or radiosong, or Superman, or Drive, or the Scientist, or Leave, or E-bow or electrolite etc etc...and half of my favourites I know by lyrics not by title)

Mariah & Brian McKnight - Whenever You Call
Mariah & Boyz II Men - One Sweet Day
    NWA - F--- Tha Police
    2pac - Changes
2pac featuring Dr. Dre - California Love
    TQ - Westside
Ice Cube featuring Dr. Dre & MC Ren - Hello
50 Cent featuring Nate Dogg - 21 Questions
Dr. Dre featuring Snoop Dogg - Next Episode
    Nas - Thugz Mansion
