Mate...I got ABD at A-Level. That D grade in Maths bothered me throughout my degree. I graduated last year and didn’t have a clue what career path I wanted to take.
But that D grade automatically ruled me out of some jobs as employers do look at the A LEVEL grades as it is a vetting process that cuts down the number of applications that need to be looked at.
I re-sat my A Level this May/June this year- hopefully I can get the chip of my shoulder.
If you have an idea of what job you want read up on it...If it requires UCAS points/grades you don’t have re-sit it in your first/placement year (when it is less likely to affect your overall degree.) Due to a mix up with the exam board I spent a total of 1.5 months revising while working and I hope I have got a decent grade. Obviously I would have preferred to have another month or so but the mix up with the exam board prevented this. All of the modules had been changed and one of the modules I had never looked at before.
Good luck with it... I got a First Class Degree and only got onto my course because I managed to get the required UCAS points - thank god they didn’t look at the grades.
But various employers ruled me out because I don’t have 300 UCAS points. Hopefully now they will have no choice but to turn me down after an interview
