Right, I've started Maths, and then got bored - I've worked out the following:

    Trinity - 3.84
    Corpus Christi - 3
    Pembroke - 3.86
    Johns - 3.4
    Clare - 3.55
    Fitz - 2.9

Which may or may not be accurate. If anyone else decides to do Maths, I figured they might as well use these to save some work.

Selwyn shouldn't be 24th; we only have an Ordinary because the girl missed an exam due to illness. She got a 2.1 in all her other exams. It's being appealed so as not to be an Ordinary, so perhaps you should recalculate with that in mind?

Calm down, how was he/she supposed to know that? It's already been said that using the class list data alone is inaccurate.

[QUOTE=alex_hk90]I've attached the full table (in OpenDocument format) if anyone wants to see it.

How did you get the class list buddy? The attachment wouldn't work for me somehow. Is there another place you can get it online? Want to see how Fitz did.

    Cheers

    According to Alex' table:

    Fitz
    1 first
    4 upper second
    3 lower second
    1 third

I've attached a PDF version. Again I should point out that it may be inaccurate due to omissions from the class list. And that's not even going into the issues with the small sample sizes.

I know that Baxter averages are used to calculate grade boundaries for Computer Science, and cohort shifting as well. Interested to see how well Churchill fares in CS.

Psh, Churchill will always do well in CS. I'm not bitter at all at the lack of such dedication to the subject on the part of my college. Nope. Of course not. I didn't pick the wrong college at all. Ahem. :p: (It seems Churchill are second only to Downing in Part IA this year, and Downing appears only to have had one entry so that could have gone any way at all.)

I did scare myself half to death reading about how they use the Baxter averages though. It was similar to a hypochondriac reading a medical encyclopaedia...

Well, it varies really, we're something like the Trinity of CS, but the year when I was a fresher went abysmally, and only one out of 8 of us got a 1st :P. On the other hand, 7/9 people in the graduating year got firsts .

I actually did read the complete scoring document for once a few weeks ago when I got really bored, and wondering how the heck I got my exam results. Dr Frank King used to supervise me for ML .
