:nah: Handling is the clio's forte.

"The 182bhp 2 litre engine pulls with planetary torque from low revs and sings power ballads at the top end, but the car’s real party piece is its handling. It seems to go round any corner at whatever speed takes your fancy." - Clarkson

"The Clio Trophy is a highly accomplished hot hatch on the road and track." - autoexpress

"The Trophy feels completely at home pushing hard through more challenging corners.....and allows corners to be taken at what would be a truly frightening lick in lesser hatches." - 4 Car
I ain't gonna argue lol, I'm no expert, I barely know anything about motors, but the clutch on a Clio? Man that's stiff!

It's got to be the mk2 golf gti

The older brother to the creator of the hot hatch, the mk1 golf. After the mk2, everything started going a bit fat and rubbish (mk3 and mk4) until they reached the amazing mk5.

205 Gti's are great cars and alot of fun.. But I know just how unreliable they are The mk2 golf is a timeless classic that will never go out of fashion and still puts some of these new cars to shame in terms of performance!

Haha! Yeah, my brother used to have a 205 and it was a nightmare of a car.. The guy I bought my last mk2 golf from is a 205 Gti specialist.. He had about 7 of them in his garage.

3 of them were these stupidly rare limited edition ones.. VERY nice..

The problem I find with 205s is they just.. cheap to me. Too much cheap looking plastic for me. A well looked after Red 205 with nice black plastics... now we're talking!

Heh, the red is nice, but a I found its dated quite alot. I like them in white, and I loove it in the lazer green I have, so few other car colours around like it.
Plastics are cheap and nasty, but I think the dash looks quite nice, less 80s than alot of the competition. I took my dash out and soundproofed it/fitted it with silicone to deal with all the rattles, helped alot

    Problems? A few..

Head gasket failure, leaky windscreen, looads of electrical problems, rattles etc.

Finished off by some vicious lift off oversteer where I put it backwards into a hedge and wrote it off.

So its had ups and downs really.. See my post on the previous page for pictures

Definitely the New Golf GTI ... with extras, is much better, although if the Renault Clio can be called a Hot Hatch it would give the golf a run

It only happened a few weeks ago, so nothing has been done to it yet. My estimate is currently at about 3 grands worth of damage.

If you want to read a bit more about my little pug, I have a project thread on here
