Ouch what's wrong with Manchester Met or their Open Day? I applied there for Events Management!

What don't you like about Manchester Met? Would be really helpful to get some info about it! Thank you!

    Good luck anyway!!

    I also applied to:
Leeds Met - Events Management
Uni of the West of Scotland Paisley - Event Management
Queen Margaret Uni - Events Management
Glasgow Caledonian Uni - Entertainment and Events Management
I liked manc. Met as a university, as it seemed really good for 99% of the subjects, they knew alot about what they were teaching and gave students a few tips on applying and other subjects they may be interested in.

But for my course, with it being a new full-time course (used to be only part time) and it not really having as high a number of people applying to it as Law/History/English etc. I found that when i asked people about it i was passed from person to person, then around the campus buildings because no one knew where anyone was or who to ask about the course, even though there had been a talk about it that morning, which i unfortunately missed due to the busses running late due to a crash on the motorway. I was even told to get on a bus to get to "A site that might know what your on about"

In the end though i did eventually find one of the tutors who taught a part of the course, but was still disappointed with the fact i was giving her most of the infomation about the course and the 'job whilst you work' aspect of it.

I will still be applying to MMU, just i dont think it will be my first choice becuase of these problems i've had. (But also because i've fallen in love with Leeds as a city and Uni hehe!) Would recommend MMU as a University to anyone though, :yep:

Was just unfortunate for me wanting to study an awkward subject finding it difficult to get the right infomation i wanted! :p:

Thanks for the good luck!! I hope you get in whereever you want to go

(and sorry for the essay! :giggle: )

Mine's complicated because all the courses have different names, but in order of preference:

    Nottingham - Viking Studies
Nottingham - Archaeology and English Language
Cardiff - Archaeology and English Literature
Birmingham - Archaeology & Ancient History and English Literature

and there isn't a fifth course that actually offers what I want!

Hey, noticed you want to do Classical Studies in some and Ancient history in others- have you written your personal statement with both in then? I really wanted to do Classical Studies at Liverpool but the rest are Ancient History and Archaeology so can't really fit it into my Statement
