...from Hampshire.. any suggestions on some good A roads to get there?

So far it's looking like that A44 from Worcester all the way which could be a bit dull, I know I asked this before, but we didnt end up going until late last time so we just went for the quickest way.

Any nice twisty roads worth checking out on the trip up? Going to take '5 hours' apparantly, we'll see if we can beat that

When we go to Aberaeron from Surrey, it's the same route as this (obviously I've just stuck the 'From' as 'Hampshire' and the 'To' as Aberystwyth)

    Google Map

The B-roads from Carmarthen are certainly twisty enough to keep you awake when it's 3 in the morning...it's amazing what a dad can do with a Ford Galaxy

The A487 coast road is very nice - remember to wave at the first house on the right going through Llwyncelyn, I might be there!

I travel from the Midlands fairly often, I go with the A44 for the last half of the journey just because it's the easiest way..

It's not a bad drive, and the scenery is good, especially once you get into Wales, although it's not the most challenging, especially once you know every corner after driving the route so many times a year, I've done it there and back 3 times in the last month!

There's a nice bit of twisty road just off the A44 at some point, but can't remember the name now.
