# Error bounds watch

1. Hello i was wodneirng if someone could explain to me whast error bounds ar eim doing my c/wk and it says state the "error bounds" and i dnt realy know what tht means

thnxs
2. Want to give us some kind of context, or should we guess?
3. Assuming my idea of an error bound is the same as yours, it's the upper and lower limits on how big an error can be, so any approximation to an exact number is within those limits. For example, if you're rounding a number to the nearest unit, the error bounds are ±0.5.
4. If you have several estimates of a root for example, and the last 3 agree to 3dp, and you state your root to 3dp, the error bounds will be your roots +/-0.0005 because that's the greatest amount it could be off by and still round to 3dp, see what I mean?

That would be nice wouldn't it. Past experience tells me that people who wodner whast things are and don't give context or complete questions often haven't opened their books or looked at their notes where they would surely find the answers to their questions and they often don't listen to advice.

Any negative reputation coming my way?

Good Question, what is the topic, im guessing c3 c/w?
eg. 0.003 (±0.0005)--> error bounds
