we are now living in a very different world than the 1940's

sexual equality and rights for homosexuals

will then, when war comes, which it inevitably will, we see the drafting of not just young british men but women too.

women are now fighting on the front line with their male comrades.

is it not fair then that they are forced to fight along side us males?

if the excuse is for them to stay at home and mind the children, then why can't the males do this instead?

is there sexual equality ..or is there not?

Actually they're not, legally they are not allowed to. The only time that women end up in combat situations in the army is when British troops get ambushed and theres no other option or if they are providing some kind of logistical/intelligence back up and the frontline suddenly shifts or their positions are compromised. Thats the reason why you very rarely hear about women dying in the army, indeed not one has died in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Legally women can't serve 'on the front line'. Quite rightly too, I'm all for women being in the army in logistical/intelligence/linguistic roles but putting them out on the front line would open up a whole can of worms.

Simple, on front line, relationships and rape from enemies (watch Braveheart, been used in past)

Second of all, er, why don't the men usually stay at home then?

Couldn't you put that the other way around? Dad stay at home to look after the children, whilst the women go to work?

Tbh, men have always had the upper hand. So it's the women who are still now fighting for equality and need it wayy more then the men!
