For anyone that knows anything about flight tickets:

I've booked a flight in economy restricted, question 1) What's the difference between economy restricted and normal economy? I didn't know there were 2 different types until I got my e-ticket...

Secondly I might try upgrading to a higher class at the check-in desk if there are any seats available, and don't mind paying the bit extra... but would the fact that the ticket is "restricted" hinder this?

    Thanks

Usually means different refund and cancellation terms. Which airline is it?

    c&p'd from another site:
In terms of onboard seating, ameneties, and comfort, they're both"economy-class"so that will all be the same."Restricted economy"is usually cheaper because it will cost you more if you want to make changes to the ticket. Unrestricted economy usually allow changes for free, or reduced charges, and sometimes is eligible for upgrade to business class if you have enough frequent flyer miles.
So you may have problems changing the ticket/upgrading.

Emirates... yeah I'm gonna ask anyway, if they do allow it it will probably cost a bit more than if it was normal economy, but I'll give it a go as I have nothing to lose. Gonna make sure I get an unrestricted ticket next time, the booking website didn't make it clear there was a difference.. Thanks

Edit: + your sig, woooaaaahhh :p:
