hey guys ive taken up the elctric guitar after my exams and have learnt the basic chords, power cords and tabs ect and i was just looking for some songs to learn over the summer to help me improve.

at the moment im at the level of playing smoke on the water, iron man ect a couple green day songs and a few acdc inc thunderstruck. anyone got any suggestions of good songs to learn to burn away these 8 weeks? also something maybe to aim to play by the end of the holidays?

    thanks in advance =D :thrasher:

I've been learning Should I Stay Or Should I Go.

You could try that, It has got an F in it though, I'm still struggling with F!

    Californication - RHCP
Come As You Are & Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana
Seven Nation Army - White Stripes
    God Of Thunder - KISS
    Dammit - Blink 182
    Here To Stay - KoRn

The first song I learnt was Daytripper by The Beatles. Are there any genres you're particularly interested in?

Metallica's Seek 'n' Destroy. It sounds good, is predominantly easy to play, but has a tricky bit in the middle! It'll also do you loads of favours for your downpicking and hammer/pull techniques, as well as teaching you some basic double stops.
