I have have a problem with setting up a society, even at the application form stage.
I would like to set up a society (name not mentioning) for fundraising activities in my university. The university has sent me an application form for me to fill in. I need to fill in contacts for vice- chair, secretary, treasurer etc.
The problem is, how do I get the right people and motivated friends to fill in these positions? I don't think my friends are willing to go through this, they don't even fundraise or volunteer themselves.
I can't just go to students on-campus and ask them to join right? I have to know these guys personally right?
I have a problem forming the team.

Put up a notice asking for students who are interested in forming a society to raise funds for charity to contact you.
When you get enough names call a meeting and hold elections.

Either way you dont have to know them as friends but I don't see why a bunch of random people would want to form a society with you.

I agree with posting an informal note somewhere asking if people are interested in joining your society. It would be good to have motivated and useful people on your committee.

email can be quite an effective way of getting through to people if you get it right - just find out who to email!
