I heard on the grape vine that they have made PGAC harder due to the amount of applicants.

If anyone has had it in the past few weeks, could you please tell me what the times people were getting in the various tests to pass?

    Thanks

Hello mate, hopefully i can help you as I did my PGAC in june which was one of the new and 'improved' PGACs. Started off 45 people and by the end 16 had passed, but ive heard that number has been getting lower and lower since. Basically to be in with a chance of being selected, you want to be hitting near fifty in a minute and above for pressups and situps, hitting 11.5 and above for bleep and i have been led to believe that the run is now 1.5 at PTI pace and the next 1.5 at best effort so just run and run for a long time before training. Battle PT is very much like the PRMC 'determination' test (give up and its a fail im afraid). Do as the Cpls say, train beforehand and then you will have nothing to worry about. One or two guys on ours had shocking fitness. Dont worry pal as long as you have put the effort in and have your motivation all settled in your head then you will pass.

What time were people doing the last 1.5 miles in? I am aiming to cut my 3-mile time down to 21 mins, should this be enough?

All the advice I've been given, especially on here is to get it down to 20 or under.... 21 should be enough, but to really stand out best to go for 20 or under.

Erm basically type into google "PGAC Day in the life of" and it will give you a detail on Battle PT, ive heard the first half of the three miler is at a normal pace, then the following 1.5 has to be done under 10 minutes. I would love to give more info guys but it may be wrong, so my best advice is get yourself on facebook and search for 'RAF Regiment Recruitment' and that seems to be updated very reguarl by some of the lads who have passed PGAC.
