When buying clothes from Hollister online which is an american brand, and it comes to the payment it asks me to fill in credit card number.

Is it ok to use a debit card?
Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Depends on what the debit card is. I'm going to go with might do (especially if it's a VISA debit card), but probably won't.

Try it. If it doesn't work you'll soon find out.

Like Snu said it depends on whether it is a mastero visa mastercard e.t.c rather than what type of account it is. Usually if it is a visa or mastercard it should work anyother type then it might not work

Yeah, it's alright. Americans use the term credit card to describe both debit and credit.

When ordering from outside the EU, be careful with the total order value (inc. shipping), as you may be charged a duty fee of 12%, then have a further 17% VAT added on top.

    If the order is $100
It might end up costing $131

    Thankyou everyone.
The card is a visa debit card.
It is from Hollister clothing and they gave me the prices in pounds.
    VAT was included.
