How the **** did a 15 year old get an internship at MS?
I think I read that his mum was walking their dog who became friendly with the dog of a senior financial analyst at MS. They got talking, and she said about her son's troubles at getting a work experience placement. Thus he managed to get a 2 week internship at Canary Wharf. Contacts eh?

EDIT: Ah, didn't see there was a second page of this thread. Doesn't matter.

I am surprised he got the opportunity to write a report like what he did though. Normally it's photocopying and tea making at his age.

He got an internship and gave their media team an angle, something different to reading numerous marketing journals and industry data. Reason most fund managers and hedge fund clients became so interested is that they forgot to speak to the information sources around them for ideas.....ignoring the principles that Peter Lynch sets out in One Up on Wall Street.

To be fair to the kid, he wrote a good article and gave some opinions but any research firm in that sector worth their salt should be able to spot those trends and capitalise on them. The MS team must be quite old not to spot that teenagers have limited incomes, are stingey with their texting habits and download lots of music, it has been the case for a while yet it provides an insight to the highly consumer exposed stocks such as Bskyb etc. Props to the MS team for publishing it, but it really is nothing new.

PB and others like him are invaluable sources of information
Doesn't stop him being unpleasant and rude though.

For the guy who wrote it, good effort.

For Morgan Stanley, respect for a well played PR stunt.

    (Ultimately, that's all it is.)

A stunt to say "we were all amazed by something written by a 15 year old that is common sense"?

It has a purpose. For your benefit. Should be happy.
