London has one of the best public transport systems in the world, despite what Londoners say. I've been in loads, and Hong Kong is the only city I've found with a better underground system, but they lack the extensive coverage that London has.
People should try others before they judge.

London has never been - and probably never will be - organised, but it's this that makes it the greatest & most unique city in the world IMO. It works and that's all that really matters.
London's history sits alongside it's present, both with it's architecture & infrastructure. Something you're unlikely to find to the same degree anywhere else on Earth. The fact that it's still functioning after huge increases in population throughout the last 2000 years, as well as plague, the great fire & the blitz... is pretty incredible.

New York (Manhattan) has grid streets.

I've lived here all my life. I know how it works, there are always delays, most of the lines are closed over the weekends, etc.
