Gooood list. It's practically impossible to narrow it down to ten without excluding something important, but I'll try (restricting it to one per artist):

    Why? - Elephant Eyelash
    Scott Walker - The Drift
A Silver Mt. Zion - Horses in the Sky
    Sparks - Hello Young Lovers
Earth - HEX; Or Printing in the Infernal Method
Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven
The Microphones - The Glow, Pt. 2
Sun Kil Moon - Ghosts of the Great Highway
    cLOUDDEAD - cLOUDDEAD
    Sunn O))) - White1

Honorary mention to Real Emotional Trash by Stephen Malkmus, which is his best album since Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain.

yeah the bug is really not everyone's cup of tea. I really loved that split album, I need to listen to more emeralds aswell a couple of my friends swear by them i've never properly made the effort to listen to them yet. Definatly on my to do list. Have you heard Sun Araw? if you liked Huntergathered theres no way you can't like his music, he supported Pocahaunted on their recent tour though i didn't see them unfortunatly.

I love how Earth completely reinvented their sound with that album, and even managed to surpass all of their previous works with it. The Bees Made Honey in the Lion's Skull is also excellent, but I think Hex just beats it because it evokes some better atmospheres and it never feels like it's longer than it should be (which I think Bees suffers from).

Still haven't heard Pocahaunted, but they're high on my list of groups to explore. There's a lot of interesting psychedelic music coming from LA and Portland at the moment, anyway, much of it criminally overlooked. Barn Own, Grouper, Eternal Tapestry and Heavy Winged are a few of my favorites.

Yep Sun Araws great, I considered putting the split album he did with Preditor Vision in my list. If theres someone from that whole music scene thats gonna get a larger audience, it'll be Sun Araw. Theres so many great bands/artists on Not Not Fun at the moment, been enjoying Animal Totem by High Wolf recently, which is well worth checking out if you don't know it already.
