I just finished first year of a part time LLB (Hons) at LSBU. Knowing that this isn't a well respected institution I've been looking at transfer opportunities to other part time courses, and Birkbeck have offered me a place onto theirs.

However, there degree is only an LLB, not an LLB (Hons) - does this mean much - which degree do you think will improve my chances of getting a training contract?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I've always thought of Birkbeck as a very solid institution, and I know I've seen some people at major firms/chambers that have gone there (albeit usually as older students).

To be honest with you, I'd probably email a few recruiters anonymously and just ask them directly. I would expect that they would give you a fairly straightforward answer. It's likely to be "we don't really care". But you never know!
