Hey guys, so i know i've already posted a tonne of times about this issue but I'm really needing advice from people who've been there.
I'm was doing a History degree at a very reputable university and I messed up my final year, due in part to some really bad stuff that happened to me at my university a couple of years ago. I got very depressed and couldn't maintain the workload. I dropped out before finals and told my tutors about it. The university are granting me leave of absence to come back for finals next year or apply for repeat study. I am worried, since i am so behind on the workload, about maintaining motivation and being completely self-taught, without full access to all the books as i am 200 miles away from my university. i dont really want to go back as i hate the place and it makes me depressed. My dissertation is also completely awful. I've just lost all drive for this and dont know how to get it back.
Has anyone else had a similar experience? Did they repeat the year or just go back for the exams? Did anyone transfer?
Ive thought about moving on and transfering, perhaps to the Open university but i don't know how good a reputation this has.
I dunno what to do, i think i've properly messed up my life.
Would you pay less for a humanities degree?
