Marking

Does anyone know how the degree is marked and what boundaries are needed ? I heard you need 40% to pass, 50% for a merit and 60% for distinction?

I would have thought that it varies between universities? Can anyone tell me what system the LSE uses in particular or any general Masters? Lastly why is the dissertation due in Sept when you graduate in the summer?

Also how bad is the workload compared with say final year undegrad? Do you have to be in the library every day

Thanks.

Do you graduate in the summer? As far as I am away most postgraduate masters students graduate in a ceremony around october/november time.

The system varies between courses let alone between universities.

You should expect to work fairly hard I would say at at least the same level as a final year student.

Isnt it a bit tricky to graduate in Sept? What about if you have a graduate job which requires you to start in July etc?

You don't get it, or you finish your dissertation whilst working (dangerous). The thousands of people who have completed postgraduate master's courses don't seem to find any difficulty obtaining employment.
