"Hi I was wondering if you have any part time/full time jobs (whatever your looking for) available" and depending on their answer then say you have a copy of your CV with you, then hand it over

Bear in mind that a lot of places won't take CVs. However, they should be able to give you an application form/advise of how to apply. But what Rachely said sounds fine

You: 'Hi there, I was wondering if you currently had any job vacancies?'
    Reply: 'Yes/No'
You: Yes; 'Could I leave you my CV to be considered?'
You: No; 'Okay. Would it be possible if I could leave you my CV anyway, should anything come up?'

    Something along those lines! :yep:

9.99 times out of 10 it will go straight in the bin.

You're better off asking if they have any vacancies. If they do, ask for an application form. If not, move on.

LOL I read that in the voice of Liam Gallagher. Is that what you we're aiming for? It's spot on lulz.

Don't give it to the shop assistant, if possible give it to the managers. From my experience most shop assistants just shove it under a pile or throw it in the bin probably because they fear competition. I remember when I went to River Island last year and the woman opened my CV in the envelope when I told her to give it the manager, and read it with some other shop assistants, laughing, then she chucked it in the bin (I was just outside the entrance sort of hiding).
